Ed Sheeran lied

I learned a lot during my trip to Ireland. From facts about the agriculture, history of the land and people, to how tourists seem to take over the city of Dublin during St. Patrick's day.

Did you know that in Ireland there is 3x more cows than people? Things you learn when touring the country by bus! I fell in love with the landscape of the island, and yes all of the cows.

Along our journey we visited the Cliffs of Moher and the views were BREATHTAKING. We had to battle through some winds, but these views were entirely worth it.

After braces the winds at the Cliffs of Moher, we took a stop in the small village of Doolin for a pint and some food. Nothing like warmed up against fire with some comfort food, supposedly the best mashed potatoes in Ireland, according to our tour guide's wife. And I must say, they were quite good.

Galway City was our next stop, and I could finally live out my fantasy of being a "pretty little galway girl," just as Ed Sheeran once said. Did I mention that this trip road trip in particular happened on St. Patrick's Day? Because now that point becomes relevant, if you hadn't picked up on the tacky beads.
In Galway, we got to see the St. Paddy's day celebration in the streets. Performers, locals and tourists alike all come together to celebrate in the streets. It was truly a beautiful, and equally entertaining sight. I didn't get a chance to see as much of the city as I had hoped, so here's to another trip to Ireland with another chance to explore Galway.
Thank you, Irish Day Tours, for a great trip and a special shout out to our tour guide, Barry, for being the BEST.

Back to Dublin just in time to celebrate St. Paddy's day at Temple Bar. Everyone I met that nice were so nice and friendly, and American. Quickly I realized just HOW touristy this holiday is in Dublin, especially at Temple Bar.

Didn't stop me from taking a photo, though.
After a night on the town, a day in the city is just what I need. From a cure-all hamburger and some sight-seeing, Dublin was great. Again, a city full of vast history around every turn. I loved seeing the different architecture styles and the uses of Limestone. The city itself was a lot smaller than I originally thought, with us being able to walk across the entire city multiple times that day (yes, we did make the trek for Nando's. Twice this trip).
From Dublin Castle, St. Patrick's Cathedral, to Trinity College and the Molly Malone statue, we walked and saw the whole city. A beautiful city, that I cannot wait for others to enjoy and explore. Shout-out to my friend Kayla, who spent a summer here working, and all of her recommendations!
Now, after reading this whole post I bet your wondering -- how did Ed Sheeran lie to us? Well, in a little song of his I mentioned earlier, Galway Girl, there's a line that says "I met her on Grafton Street right outside of the bar." Most anyone listening to this song would just nod the line off and enjoy the catchy tune. Me, however, will continue to analyze the lyric. For starters, Grafton Street isn't in Galway, it's in Dublin. Though, his "Galway Girl" could easily be visiting Dublin FROM Galway, so I'll let that slide. The next potential stretch of the truth from Eddie is the fact that Grafton Street is a shopping district. It's a street full of stores with maybe one or two bars, but who hasn't picked up a girl at Captain America's. My bad, Ed. I'm just getting mixed signals here, but does that mean I'm going to stop listening to the song? No way, I've had it on repeat since I left.
